If anyone is receiving emails from my fnk.ca account, please do not open it. I was informed by Kraig that apparently my email has been affected and spamming people involuntarily.
Also... anything from *[email protected]* !!! This is NOT a valid email account. |

Somehow about 4 copies of the Nimda virus and 6 copies of the Pica worm virus showed up on my computer this morning, as files in folders like My Music, My Documents etc. I don't know how they arrived, maybe in email. It looks like the Pica virus was sitting on my computer for several days in a VBS file called "Open.FP3...", and the Nimda came in as files called citbal3d.eml, cithomed.eml, nimda.eml, etc
I never open email attachments, the virus might have come in from Javascript code contained in HTML in messages viewed in Outlook Express. I have all the updates for XP but have now changed a few things in Outlook. Or maybe they got in through web page code. I had my hardware router box removed for a few days due to a long internet outage last weekend, so maybe they got in somehow thru an open port. Firewall router box now running. McAfee security caught them and deleted most of the virus files but some of them were undeletable and it took a while to get rid of those. The virus files did not appear to execute and did not change anything on my PC, and they did not resend themselves as email to any other people (I hope). :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: |
