Bourbon (the drink, not the bar)

If I drank whiskey in the past it was always rye, but my roommates basically drinks nothing but bourbon... at first i wasn't too fond, but now that i understand the real meaning of bourbon I don't think I can ever go back to rye.

drinkin a jack & coke right now and damn is it good.

Went to Bourbon tonight...that place has some hot guys. :trippin:

tsk tsk pbreak, you disappoint me.. JD is not bourbon! it's a tenesee whiskey. real bourbon is made in kentucky and aged in oak casks, unlike jd... which is really just expensive average whiskey...

anyway it's a common mistake. for a good (real) bourbon try buffalo trace.

how can i disappoint you when you don't even know me... and I think somebody is getting a little overly technical here - Wild Turkey, Makers Mark, etc. are all bourbons and the distinction between their flavor and JD's is minimal... I would have to say without a doubt that JD (Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey to be precise) tastes much more like those 'real' bourbons than regular whiskey. And yes my friend, there are better whiskeys... they just cost a lot more money.

JD does not technically meet the extremely strict rules that a 'true' bourbon must comply with (especially Kentucky's attempt at keeping some form of economic clought in their state that has really be going downhill ever since the Civil war)... but it is made with many VERY similar ingredients and in a very similar way to Kentucky Bourbon and for all intents and purposes (other than those set out by the "Federal Spirits Labeling and Advertising Regulations") can be considered a bourbon without as much as raising a trolls eyebrows... but i guess some troll's self-confidence levels just aren't quite as high as others.

that's what you say, but I wouldn't know that you like it cuz Captain "We gotta go drinkin sometime" Filo just doesn't ever seem to go drinkin.
