possibility of plaza not turning into a casino

I'm not to sure what happened, something unexpected in legislature

I'm pretty sure it's about Slots though and not the actual Casino itself.

infact it is rite. Me and some other friends are basiclly not going raving anymore after plaza is gone. Ive been raving for 5 years now and i already stopped going to small parties a long time ago and i only go to massives now. There are alot of people who have been going for a long time, stopped doing the weekly raving thing, getting old but still love the music so will attend the massives. For these people it will basiclly be the end of the world sort of.

^ this is true to an extent as well. Some people who have been partying for awhile tend to come out once in ablue moon to say a party like kiss. I saw people there i hadn't seen inside the plaza in ages, but since the talents is good they come out. Also the fact that their friends come out of retirment lets say.

^but there will be other places to hold the massives with the big talent.. there are other venues out there.. not nearly as favorable as the plaza but there still there and can still host a 2000+ person party with good DJs that people will come to see...

true but those venues dont exist, yet that is. There is PNE but you cant use PNE as much as you can plaza due to the fact you need way more poeple to fill it, its more exspensive, and you wont get that many people to attend anytime through out the year like you would with plaza. But ill wait to see what new venues pop up. Should be interesting so see whats new

"A widening rift between COPE politicians on Vancouver council has placed the development of the Plaza of Nations casino in jeopardy.

On Monday, a routine rezoning bylaw that would have permitted development of the casino failed when COPE Coun. Jim Green was absent due to illness and his colleagues Tim Louis, Fred Bass and Anne Roberts failed to back Mayor Larry Campbell."

Ended with:

"The casino was set to open as early as May. City staff will now try to determine how the bylaw vote will affect the proposal."

i miss the good ol days when you had to call to find out where the party was at. most of the time it was a no brainer and you where the party would be anyways but even saying that you still had to call just to confirm it 100% because anything could of happened and the venue could of changed or what not. It was sweet i had to say

Casino's do suck. but, it will bring a lot of money to the city. i'm not all that concerned, it will just force people to be more creative in finding venues! Like zarlon said, we might even benefit from it! don't fret ravers!

Maybe it's just me, but it didn't always seem like such a 'no brainer'. I was pretty surprised the first few times I found myself partying in a sketchy surrey warehouse, old buddhist monastery and porn theatre, to name a few.

Yeah i read this also. This definitly stirs the pot. Wonder what will happen. we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully whatever happens it's best for everybody.
