Thought about the NHL in terms of salaries, collective bargain etc.....
With all the bertuzzi talk how about just a thread devoted to things to do with hockey in general. I 'm talking about things like the collective bargaining agreement and looming strike.
Maybe talk about the increase in team operating costs, and salaries in general.. some of the rules of hockey, like no touch icing, as opposed to players ramming into the boards head on like tyler bouke last night.. poor guy, not to mention marco stern and a bunch more. but we need a topic of discussion first. if this sounds like a stupid idea, too bad suck it up |

no touch icing is a must...if they are so fuckin concerned about injuries *cough* then what the fuck are they waiting for
and they better not say the goalies cant play the puck. its taking away the ability to dump and chase...SO make the goalies no different. they leave their crease they are fair game. if u dont want to get hurt you'll stay in your net. and as for the collectiving bargaining agreement...there is a lot wrong with this league right now. straight up there are too many teams in this league. there is not enough nhl talent for 30 teams. teams like pittsburg and chicago are a joke to the league. the players make too fuckin much money and unless they realize for the league to survive this needs to happen. a real salary cap! if a lockout happens hockey will die in the states, look what it did to baseball the american passtime. just imagine what it could to do hockey a game not really excepted or understood properly and as much as we hate the states we need them for the league to survive there is much going on in hockey. its crazy. the next couple years things will change so much. i have a conspiricy theory. toronto those fuckers. the hate us. i swear they helped in sentencing of bertuzzi. yeah its rediculous i know. but fuck like this is so convient cuz the rest of league was scared of vancouver with bertuzzi and us playing like we can. we are big tough team. there ya go hows that for some hockey talk |

Ya just think about how many teams benifit without bertuzzi in vancouver.
and i definetly agree with the league being just two big, and too costyly now maybe in the late mid 90's the league could survive cause thje salaries were still low compared to nowadays, with each team being able to afford some stars. now every team is left with a costly payroll. lacking talent except for the left over elite which is always the same now, at least the canucks are up their with the teams that have talents. teams like the pens, washington, chicago can't afford to run a team anymore |

NHL said they lsot 30 million last year i say bullshit and the NHLPA thinks its bullshit too.
30 teams is too much but theres nothing we can do about it now which is hurt. Players need to realize they are getting paid more then ever and they gotta stop being so fucking greedy. No touch icing is a must. enough said Goalies not being able to play the puck is by far the stupidest idea ever. Goalie equipment shrinking is a great idea. Both toronto goalies were bitching at this idea which is not surprising casue their whole team are whiners. |
