best day ever.
it's amazing how one good day can erase all the memories of endless shitty days.
i was walking home today and i know one of my favorite photographers is in toronto today doing a lecture....Andres Serrano....he's this really controversial photographer that has photographed the KKK and even does tableau peices involving bodily fluid (ie. blood, urine, ejaculate). so i was walking home..and i was thinking about one of his photos "Piss Christ" and i look up...and guess who's fucking walking towards me? ANDRES FUCKING SERRANO. i stopped walking..just stood there and my jaw dropped open. and he obviously saw and he walked by and smiled and said "hi" all shy n shit. and all i could to was mumble. Serrano said hi to me. i wanted to like...touch his hands or something. holy fuck. and then i went to check my mail. and i got a letter from my school. they gave me a fucking bursary for a couple of grand. whichis amazing cuz i had only a few hundred to live off of for the next month. and now i have enough money to make 16x20 prints for my final critique...and i can frame them! AND i can put a lot of money towards my medium format camera. i'm so happy right now. -s.

i went to this rave in E-town, the people there were all soooo nice... i told one person that it was my first rave in edmonton and soon every1 kept on coming up to me and ur the girl from bc, r u having a good time? i had the best time ever... all the people there totally made my night.. such an awesome atmosphere.. i loved it..

no no dont get me wrong i didnt do any drugs at the party... just got real hammered... :kam: .. drank a 26 before i went and just took some caffeine pills to stay awake.. thats just what they call edmonton.. but parties there are soo much fun...it was also one of the cleanest venues ive ever been too...

not yet. i think i'm gonna wait till i get home. i might buy one off of ebay. my friend got a Hasselblad on ebay during the holidays for like 1200 and she got 2 film backs and 2 lenses??!?!?! so i'm gonna look around first before just buying a random hasselblad. i might even get a Mamiya....only because you can switch between square and rectangular format. but hasselblads are so much nicer. if i get a hasselblad i'm gonna get the model that's compatible with a digital back just in case i stumble across 10 grand and can afford a digital back. hah. you never know.
either way, i want to buy a medium format that comes with normal and wide angle lenses and at least an extra film back and maybe a polaroid back just so i can test out photoshoots. i'll let you know alllll about it. -s.
