Best Energy Drink

I know "red bull" is going to flood this thread , but personally I've found , atleast in Canada, Monster to be the best value for your money.

hear me out...
you're paying 3$ per energy drink , on average. Monster gives you three times the volume out of any of them, it's in tall-ies. It has 2500MG of stimulants, more then all the other stimulating beverages combined.
And they recently added "taurine" to their lineup of green tea, guarana, panax, ginseng, maca root, yerba mate, caffeine. Any March or April cans of monster have the red bull ingredient ... so I ask you, what do you think is better?

ps: monster is the shit for mixing too, gin&monster is so tasty.

yup!.. i took his advice and bought a case of Rockstar instead of Redbull.. best move i've ever made

If you want energy drinks you have to go to the states to get them. The american energy drinks have Taurine in them which isn't approved by Canadian Health crap or something so they cant sell drinks with it legally in Canada. I kinda doubt that the Monster now has Taurine in it unless Canada just approved of it. I think if you bought that in Canada you must've got really lucky cause the store must've had it shipped from the states. American Monster has always had Taurine in it and the Canadian stuff never has.

That redbull crap they sell up here in bottles is garbage. That stuff isn't even redbull.. its like sugar water with a similar flavor

Cytomax makes a great energy drink, so does a company called SISU, it has no sugar and is all electrolytes. I have a strange feeling that I am talking about something else though.

Geez dean I'd research these claims a bit.

First off the reason american red bull isn't sold in canada is you can't sell a drink beverage in canada that has supplements. You'll notice canadian red bull is actually not a drink but it's called "Liquid Vitamin Supplement". Thats not the only reason because obviously red bull would just nut up and call it that instead of red bull, it's the fact that they add B12 to the drink . You can buy b12 vitamin in canada, it has to be perscribed.

And yes, monster does have taurine added to it now, gives it that much more kick. taurine is just an amino acid tho, nothing more. It's not ephedrine or anything...

Not so, you can buy taurine in health food stores in powder form. It has a lot of health bennifits, good for the heart and brain. I can't remember the specifics, but it is legal here. I am sure you could find something on google.

that could very well be another reason but the Taurine is also not approved by the Canadian Health whatever for use in drinks like that (UNLESS IT JUST CHANGED) as of the last time i looked it up (about 6 months ago) Taurine was NOT IN ANY canadian Energy drinks. I went to the stores and actually read the back of every energy drink and i could not find anything that included Taurine. In the states every energy drink includes Taurine.. even ones that i found didnt' in Canada like monster (unless its something recent).. so even if you can buy taurine in powdered form it wasn't in any canadain energy drinks.

and i know you cant buy american red bull in canada.. thus the name.. AMERICAN.. i used to drive down to bellingham to buy it.. but now i get Rockstar.. its much much better and cheaper

i swear to god i saw red bull in a seven eleven a couple weeks ago

<------ Well, yeah...

But I find Monster drinks to be quite decent as well. While not as concentrated as other drinks because of its size, the fact that it takes longer to drink (unless you shotgun 'er, of course) gives it more sustainability within the body over a period of time. Quite nice for pulling the all nighters. :toasted:

I bought a bottle a week ago. Costs $2.50 for a wee little bottle...tastes like sugar-water. The label is all in Thai so you can't read a thing, it says Red Bull in the background...It was alright.

I've tried one other energy drink, it's called Bawls, they sell it at 7-11 as well. Apparently you're supposed to drop a breathmint in there and it fizzles up, adds some kick? I don't know. I once went to see off my friend @ 3am to the airport, and I had work @ 8 the next day. I drank 2 bottles of Bawls and it kept me going until the next day.

Where can I purchase these other energy drinks?

yes you'll see red bull all over the place. They sell it at corner stores, 7-11, even the Amsterdamn Cafe.
It's Taiwaii red bull , not american. It is not carbonated, contains twice as much taurine, but no B12 vitamins.
I personally find it more delicious, but I'm just used to it.

It'll cost you about 3$ a bottle. This was the original red bull until a dude from australia travelled to taiwaii , tried it for the first time, loved it, then exported it to america where they carbonized and souped it up.
