Hey, you should read up on the Incas of Peru. Turns out they had a white-skinned, bearded god-type guy, who taught them a lot of things like architechture, etc, who also disappeared into the sea, who also vowed to return...the same thing happenned with them when the Spanish came. I've been reading this book, Fingerprints of the Gods, which points out some crazy parallels in ancient civilizations.Apparently Quetzalcoatl's name has something to do with a serpent? I don't have the book on hand, but the peruvian version's name also meant "something-serpent". The parallels are almost impossible to ignore, which is crazy because they probably never had contact with eachother back then.
