I may feel like an idiot but oh well i might as well let the rest of the world know.... i dont understand the karma thing? is there a point to it? or do we just to it to amuse eachother and what really is it? we base it due to their posts? can someone fill me in

The idea is to give good karma for a post you think deserves it, and vice versa with bad karma.
But last time it got out of hand and just turned into a big popularity contest. And then it got really bad with people leaving insulting and threatening anonymous messages. So hopefully people won't abuse it this time!
