cold turkey is the only way to go. something that really helps is zyban (medication to help you quit smoking) it seriously helps. It eliminates the cravings (though you have to resist the habit) but I suggest that every smoker try it, you'll be amazed!
Thanks everyone :hair: |

Tried Zyban - worse thing I ever did. I hated it. Was depressed and angry all the time because of it, not to mention I felt like I was very HIGH and dizzy and I couldn't sleep. It's not for everyone. Although I've also known many people to quit smoking with the use of Zyban so it can definately be good for some.

I quit by using Zyban but you're right it isn't for everyone. Some people get real sick on it and offers it greatly effects their moods. If it works for you use it most definetly even if it costs a lot of money. In the long run you save SO much from not smoking. A good 2 or 3 months on it is all you really need but you still have to resist wanting to smoke. It's been like a year n a half for me and I still get cravings every now and then.

for anyone taking anti-depressants already, you might want to check out Wellbutrin. It's an anti-depressant and also is supposed to help fight the cancer stick succubi as well.
You're definitely over the hump if you're on day 9. Congrats. |

I tried to stay away from smoking completely for the longest time, but I always fucked up eventually. But recently i went away to a vipassana mediation retreat, and I ahven't had ONE PUFF ever since and that was months ago now. yay for me! It also really helsp hanging out with people who don't smoke and will kick your ass if you do. |

I've managed to say no even when i'm with my friends who smoke...it basically came down to this : do i want to live or die early? also, when a smoker walks past me, I can't belive how gross they smell. My senses have greatly improved over the past week. I can already feel a difference. I hope all of you other smokers manage to quit eventually...the hardest part is actually deciding that you WANT to quit. The rest is just a matter of will power. I honestly don't think i'll ever go back.
