i was worried since the first 5-3 caused problems.. BUT im so happy to see them kill that second 5-3... Our penalty killing is looking good as usual... and Power play is looking WAY better... what more can we ask for?

I have faith the canucks will win, but i say its gonna take 5 or 6 games. Not a sweep, it could happen but probablity says 5 or 6 games.

We'll stomp all over the Flames but when it get to the second and third rounds we'll fall to the Avs or Detroit...Sad but true.

I think we could do very well against the avs, detroit or dallas.

but the thing is we would most likely be playing the winner of the san jose against st louis series.

So theoretically we would play (detroit, colorado or dallas) in the Western Conference Finals only.

Am i wrong, correct me if I am please.

I'm not so sure about us doing well against the avs or the wings. It seems to be like a mental block that even though the Canucks are as good (or better) than both of those teams, we just can't seem to beat them. Maybe this year is our year... But then again I've been saying that for the past like 5 years. lol.

and to add to that, if the canucks get full steam like they did in 94, our team is far better than they were in 94.

Overall Cloutier has been a better goalie than Mclean was *other than the 94 playoff's*

Our medium/big sized defensemen are capable of piling up the goals *sami salo and ohlund against calgary*

- not to mention we have capable scoring from naslund, morrison, sedins and alot of our guys if they are pushed right are capable of overcoming any team. I mean any team.

It all comes down to adversity and team work in how much they really will sacrifice for the cup.

This year all the top teams are 100 points + and it shows that any team can win the cup this year.

You do make really good points. And I agree that this is any ones prize as of now, and I still feel nervous about Calgary maybe just wanting this more. I mean, the Canucks won the game the other night, but they need to step up their game A LOT more if they want Calgary out. The Flames will now know how the Canucks play in a playoff game and it could be our downfall that we are overly cocky that we can win this.... I want to see them win more than anything, because we deserve it... No matter what anyone else says.

don't forget when the canucks lost to the avs in 2001, we lost in the regular season like 4 times, when we lost to detroit in the following year we were still getting owned by many of the good teams of the league and if not for our experience. WE WOULD HAVE WON THAT SERIES cause we had won both of the opponing games in detroit.

Take this 2004 canucks team and put them in the 2002 playoff's against detroit i say we would take it 4-2 for the canucks instead of 4 games to 2 detroit.

NO TEAM WINS THE STANLEY CUP WITHOUT EXPERIENCING DEFEATS. Its just that hard to win. Montreal had to lose, Edmonton had to lose to the islanders before they won it the following year, the islanders lost many times before they finally won the cup as well.

We may not have as many individual stars as the avs or detroit but take my word we are capable of playing on the same level field.

Everyone seems to be underestimating Calgary for some odd reason. They finished only 5 points behind us, and only one win less than our total wins of 43.

Obviously the canucks need to do a few things different.

No one is over cocky to wint his. Naslund said it best when he said he expects this series to go at least 6 games. Their is respect right there.

The canucks don't need to step their game up alot, they need to maybe work harder yes, but other than the 5 on 3 in the first period that let the flames tie the game, we were the better team in goaltending, defence *ohlund*, and scoring.

Oh yea one other thing. Calgary may know how the canucks play , but do you honestly not think they are going to change things around, considering they lost the game, and the canucks will also adjust as the game #2 is played.

anyways yea final thoughts canucks can beat colorado or detroit if they are on the right roll, and getting hotter as the stretch of the pl ayoff's go.
