Drowning

It gets so hard when you stop believing
When the truth of your life keeps getting you down
And at times you wish you could just stop breathing
From outside your eyes watch yourself drown

Walking the thin line of society’s expectations
Lose balance and fall when you choose not to conform
Beneath you shallow waters of your limitations
Each tear contributes to give the river it’s form

Numbing impact upon conclusions of ice
Fears and failures are pulling you in
childhood dreams, frozen fragments slice
Against these cold waters you simply can’t win

To cure your frozen soul you gasp for air
But only waters of hate and deceit fill your lungs
Choking on disappointments, drowning in despair
The sorrowful song of your life is silently sung

It gets so hard when the truth is deceiving
When the lies of your life are pulling you down
And now as you slowly drift from breathing
Watch from afar your frozen corpse drown
