My cousin was murdered, shot point blank because of 'gang violence' in Toronto when I was in grade 4 or 5.

it wasn't hard to find his killer, he was found guilty and he only got 5-10 years in prison.

Certainly, that adds insult to injury, but my family realizes enough that no matter how long his killer stays in prison, it's not going to bring him back.

The judicial system is thoroughly broken. I really fail to see, however, how Capital Punishment helps fix it. All it does is raise people's bloodlust.

they arent..they go to seperate prisions..

obviously, but emotions can really get in the way of reason and logic and I know I'm not the only one who would feel this way.

however like I said, realistically and practically, I don't agree with capital punishment at all.

myra: 5-10 years? that's sick. why did he get such a lenient sentence??? I'm really sorry to hear that though... :(
