'Wandering' cloutier does that too, except that he's much worse at handling the puck.
Hedberg was actually really helpful in the third period when the Canucks locked up defensively, because every time the flames dumped it, he was back there stopping it for the defense to clear before the Flames could take the zone. |

MISKA !! yur a genius.. totally true about hedpevb, he handles the puck well behidn the net. shure its cost us sometimes.. but with some practice.. he is really good at handlin it.. long pass to sanderson, speed into there zone. sedin's behind him making chances... damn... As naslund said, with hedberg they have to play tougher defencively.. different' style of game from cloutier, but still effective.. We are lucky cuz last year we didn't have an awesome back up goalie for the play offs, now we do. i think this is a good sign.

When Hedberg is on top of his game, he can really throw the opposition's transition game off.
When Hedberg is at his worst he give's away the puck giving the opposition empty net goals. the same with all great goalies, *cough* patrick roy haha. I like Hedberg for one thing mentally he is prepared. even in the blowout game against colorada 9-2. He still kept with it. He knows you can't do anything if the goals go in, you just gotta keep trying to stop the next one. Clouts is still weak in terms of his pyche. I said in the post after the minnesota game 7-2 i think it was. Everyone bitched at me but I stand by what I said. A goalie must maintain a clear head, and always be prepared for the next shot, regardless of how easily the puck looks to be cleared. Like in game 2 |
