he's definately a donkey and one of the reasons i love donkeys.
and yes his tail is pinned on, i used to have a stuffed eeyore that would sing winnie the pooh and his tail was on with velcro and i always lost it just like he would in the book.
i even made him a home once out of an old suitcase. then my dad got mad and took it away.

i have an eeyore with a detachable tail as well. i got him way back when i went to disney land with my dad. the tail is velcro, but it has a little string so you can't really lose it.
he's my favourite.

Tigger was the jib head, pooh was the glutten, rabbit was the schizo/anxiety guy .. i dont remember who else was on the show..but i do remember something about winnie getting all caught in the rabbit hole cuz he was trying to eat honey.. and then rabbit freaked out, and tigger game and jumped around all sketchy

Goofy is a dog! Goofy was created as a human character, as opposed to Pluto, who was a pet, so he walked upright and had a speaking voice.

thats what i was thinking.youd think pluto would get jealous of goofy's being able to walk and talk and whatnot.
