Quick question before court...
Can a cop give a ticket for running a red light purely based on a witness statement????
this fucking cop wasn't even there... but based on a witnesses statement.... he gave me a ticket for running a red light.... will it get dismissed? |

Yes, it will be dismissed. Not enough evidence to convict, unless the officer saw with his two eyes, you running a red light - it's not admissable in court, it will be thrown out.
I've won every court case i've been in since I started disputing them - any I get a lot of tickets. (I'm an unlucky bastard) - You wont be charged, if you do - appeal it, because that is downright bullshit. They cannot convict you based on terms of the word of mouth. It doesen't pass as evidence, even if the witness is there - no proof. Dont worry about it, it's just a waste of time to goto the court to fight something like that. Punch the witness out, then fight that in court - it will give you something to do. |

^^ see what I mean? no evidence. I read up a lot of traffic laws because, well, I get a lot of speeding tickets. One of the beautiful things about living in the abbotsford area is - the court system is so backed up, that there's a year and a half waiting list to get into traffic court - and speeding tickets are thrown out of court after 8 monthes. :) SPEED AWAY, FUCKERS! I've lost my license for 3 monthes for unecessary noise and 1 month for blowing a 0.00001% on a breathalizer, I now dispute my tickets.
Here's a document on how to fight your traffic tickets: http://users.resentment.org/neoh/fyst0499.doc enjoy. - neoh |
