That is why i really don't like organized religion. They preach tolerance on the surface while spreading intolerance underneath like an infection.

Buddhism is much an organized religion as any though ;)

Those people aren't really speaking on behalf of religion as much as they'd like to think, they're more grandstanding their own idiotic personal beliefs and then loosely tying in religion to make it seem like its okay.

Those people also win the award for 'not getting it'

agreed. I wasn't saying it wasn't though :)

I suppose the thing about organized religion that doesn't sit well with me is the restrictions that it puts on people. I know some friends of mine that have turned hardcore religious and now they have given up the things that they used to love to do because their religion now tells them it's wrong. They have also changed their views on several subjects which is making it hard for us to be friends anymore. I guess it's the 'brainwashing' that some organized religions do that makes me uneasy.
