They have a fucking tally for the AMERICAN casualties that happen there, they seem to announce every single one of their deaths whether it was a soldier, tourist etc. But when innocent Iraqi people, you know the ones they say they are trying to save, are killed they barely mention it, and seem to brush it off as if it is "part of the plan", a price that needs to be paid for their freedom. Bullshit.
It's utterly disgusting that people, especially ones with power, could pull something like this. Liberting their country? There won't be anyone left to liberate if they keep "helping" this way. Whats even more disturbing is the thousands of men and women who blindly put their lives on the line and think what they are doing is morally right or patriotic. People on both ends of the spectrum are dying who shouldn't be, including the american soldiers. People are disgusted and shocked by the way people in other countries blindly follow their horrible leaders, yet they are just as brainwashed as a suicide bomber is. I'm clearly another person that thanks whoever is in charge of things that I am lucky enough to live in canada.

Quick analysis of the link... the first 5 or so short paragraphs were heavily slanted against the American occupation.. it's pretty obvious from the language they select. Much as I might tend to side with that viewpoint, I try to maintain the ability to recognize such bias. But the 2nd article was quoted from a human rights worker from Iraq.. seemingly a fairly credible source. And some of the issues she brings to the forefront are certainly incriminating from a US standpoint. In the end, people hear what they want to hear.. I'm curious why you've decided you don't want to hear about issues that "make the world hate americans".

Read that one instead. I trust the Guardian a few billion times more than I trust The Insider. Note the lack of really firm numbers. It's all estimation. However, it is one to raise the eyebrows. But it's not like it's the first time we've seen this in the Middle East. How long were we bombing them without any report of it happening on our side of the media? People wanna know why shit like 9-11 happens, take a look at what we've been doing to them for the past 25 years. And we get our tizzy in a knot over one major building bombing, compared to the thousands upon thousands that have been at the hands of the Western World.
