An early morning bird-napping at a Surrey pet store has prompted management to post a thousand dollar reward for the safe return of a rare bird! "Samson", a blue and gold macaw, was one of several animals lifted when thieves punched in the locks at "Pet Land" on Fraser Highway around 7AM. Manager Gary Batt says the bird's been part of the family for seven years, and staff and customers alike are devastated he's gone. He tells News1130, even though Samson is worth more money alive, he's still worried for the bird's safety because it's not used to being caged. Batt says he's not sure if the motive was monetary -- but points out several pet stores have been hit in the past few weeks.
