thats intense...id be fucked!!! ...seriously... thats so bunk....especially since theyre cops and they can arrest u on the spot....but that kind of seems like an illegal search and seizure to me....i don't think thats something that can be ok...seems excessive to me...i think it also says somewhere in the rights act that we have the right to personal or reasonable privacy or some shit...am i wrong here thinkin that this is kind of ILLEGAL... corrie |

if it is presented to you on the flyer/at the door that the cops will be doing this sort of thing, and you continue into the party, you basicly give your consent.
in a private setting, if you are informed of the searches, then your rights are not in violation because you have the choice not to go to the party. just turn around and ask for a refund. r. |

What you are referring to is the Freedom of Information Act (BC).
In this province, under our laws, the police have to clearly notify you if you are being searched or under survallience. Those laws may not apply in Alberta, or apply in a different fashion. |
