Tattoos
... are rad!
I just got my second one done yesterday, it's the symbol for leo with the Japanese character of happiness overtop it. "Shadi" (my name) means happiness in Persian and I really like the way it looks in Japanese :) It looks really nice, and I thought that maybe it would be a bit more painful than my first one, just because this one's on my ankle but it wasn't at all. The healing isn't going so good though, it's a bit red and swollen and it the location just makes it prone to rubbing against socks and pants. So what kind of tattoos do you guys have and what are your thoughts on them? |

I'll have my next one done before Unite (its easy for me to set goals using events :P).
A blue thunderbird/eagle on my left leg to match the green frog on my right leg. A pic of it is in an slightly old thread in the sex section. Another thought: Where do you people get your tattoos done? Mine was done by Art Gadoy of Funhouse Tattoos. This guy is amazing. The latest issue of Concrete Wave magazine has an article on him in it, and pictures of some of his work...including my frog. Wooh! Last edited by Quin600; May 13, 04 at 08:33 PM. |

Quin, is the eagle or frog symbolic in any way? Good luck with your next one! |

The frog print I saw being sold by a guy at the Broadway Skytrain on my way to work. I fell in love with it. I, already knowing a bit of the spiritual native symbolism of the frog did some more research into it and decided that, on top of being a kick ass work of art,
it would be the kind of symbolism (shamanistic familiar/ spiritual totem) that I would want to keep with me at all times. The eagle follows a very similar li9ne of thinking. Very spiritually powerful. May sould kinda lame, but I like it. |

I'm going to get the Japanese symbol for "father" on my left back, as close to my heart as possible. My dad passed away when I was 15 and we were extremely close so it's a tribute to him.
Too bad that there are to tattoo artists in greater Vancouver that write katakana...I have to wait until someday when I go to Japan to get it done. Technically, if someone who does not know how to write the symbol properly does the tattoo, it symbol has no meaning because the strokes were not done properly. |
