This is what a hostile takeover bid is...
Basically every company has stocks... it's now upt to the public who owns the microcell stocks whether they want to go through with this or not. and why woudl they? telus is offering a lot of money to these people in cash. not additional stocks. Microcell has no say in this unless they discourage the public by maybe making another offer. From my experience. Fido's days are numbered.

this is why fido did the $40 plan thing.. cause they wanted to be bought out
they couldn't compete with telus so they offered a plan like that which would not work out well for them in the long run to piss off telus so they would just buy them out rather than trying to compete

The reason they did their 40 dollar plan was to strenghten themselves in western canada which they did successfully. when that fourty dollar plan came they skyrocketed up. and they knew that keepign it would mean great revenue to start. that is why they have now charged 45 for the same plan and also charged fifty dollars for the fee to start off with. the reason they went to anytime also was so they dont' have to pay the 6.95 it's a base fee... which was actually a lot less then fifty dollar. so already.. with every customer they signed up they made some money. they've also changed the sim card.. it costs fifty dollars to grab one of those now. Fido has marketed themselves very well.

i hav fido. it sucks reception wise. if telus takes it, i jus hope they use their antennas and shit so ill hav better reception. but i wuz already thinkin of switchin to telus anyways. lol weird

Telus wireless is the biggest hunk of shit service ever, with even worse customer service. Trust me this is not going to be a good thing if it goes through - there will only be 2 wireless companies controlling things, Telus being the bigger one of the two (Rogers). That will allow them to drive up prices even higher.
