Kitty hunts no more
My cat "Kitty", a.k.a. Huntress, a.k.a. Natasha (a Russian Blue breed from SPCA), went missing a week ago and I suspected the worst. I found out a couple of days ago that she was the victim of a hit-and-run driver who was speeding. It was not entirely unexpected because she was hit by a car before, and I live near a busy street.
Here is a little video I made of Kitty a year ago. It's kinda lame, but people always enjoy it. The music is from the original vocal trance mix of Sylver - Livin My Life. http://members.shaw.ca/tvmann/Fresh02.wmv 2 MB I will miss Kitty, but her preferrred dinner guests will be resting easier. Kitty munched a lifetime total of between 2,000 and 5,000 mice, birds, and rabbits. She was an amazing hunter, and a good bunkmate, and was kind enough to not leave the room too quickly when I played bad music on the stereo. R.I.P. Kitty. Its been a rough week or so for pets.
My rat Gordon dies last weekend, and a good friend of mine, his rabbit also dies last weekend. I'm a huge pet lover. I've had so many dogs, cats, and small animals (even a pot bellied pig!) live happily to full lives, ended naturally and not. Its always rough looking a good friend like that. |

Yes - animals have shorter and more violent lives than most of us, and cars are dangerous. What is really sad is that when some animals die, there is nobody around who cares. They're not people, but many of them do have "personalities" and are interesting little beings.
On the positive side, Kitty did have a good life of 14 years. ------------------------------------------------------ Just a few days before my cat vanished, a couple of boys were caught trying to drown a kitten in a creek near my place. I lived on a cul-de-sac before and had a cat - it was probably killed by a 13 year old boy with a slingshot. He denied doing it but said he did kill animals with his slingshot and he thought it was OK if they might be homeless. Future psychopaths in training. That is how some serial killers get started. |
