Federal Election called for June 28!

http://www.canada.com/national/featu...a-d54904770fbd

If you're of legal voting age, make sure you're registered, informed, and most importantly, you vote. Did you know that only 25% of young people actually voted in Canada in the 2000 federal election? That's scary.

I'm way more concerned about the American election than this one. WAAAYYYY more important that Kerry beats Dubya than either of those momos in Ottawa. Nonetheless, I agree, we all need to get out and vote.

^ Young voter turnouts in the United States are even worse than they are here, that's why people like Bush get into office. It's sad because in the last two US elections (this one and the last one) I haven't really liked either candidate...haha
I wish they could just bring back Bill Clinton. haha

Marc Emery is actually all about the alternative healing techniques, not just for pot. He's been reaping amazing results with his Ibogane research that has so far been tremendously successful in curing heroin addictions and other hardcore drugs. If you are in a riding that has a MARIJUANA PARTY candidate and are concerned about the sweeping drug epidemic in the d/t east side and other skidish areas, this is probably a party you woud want to look into.

The Marijuana Party really should have went with a different name. I think they lose a lot of credibility because of their name, and quite justly.

^Credibilty shouldn't matter one iota about the name (within reason naturally), but I agree that in a society where first impressions mean as much as they do, this name is a mistake. Mr Emery is an idealist though, I'm sure if you heard it from the man your views would change.

Maybe, but with a name like that, I don't even want to give them a chance. And the name shouldn't have anything to do with credibility within reason, you're right, but this name is so stupid I'd almost call it an exception to the rule.. it just doesn't instill confidence in me. Hahah.. oh well.

I've voted in the last Federal Election... maybe this time the Liberals will lose on both the Provincial and National Level. Oh yah, screw the NDP. :)

I never voted Liberals last time around...I honestly hope they don't get in this time. Whenever they say deficit, they mean surplus.

Damn them.

I haven't missed an election since I turned 18 in 95, it only takes a minute. If I were to still be in the country when the election happens, I think that this would be the first time I would deface my ballot.

Martin is corrupt and arrogant. Thats why I want a minority government with the NDP as the coalition partner. That's pretty much the opposite of stephen harper, man.

stephen harper = fundamentalist - scary shit
paul martin = liar, thief, idiot -scary shit

my vote goes to Jack Layton NDP. At least he seems to give a shit about the concerns of Canadians under the age of 30. That, and he's highly entertaining.

GO JACK GO!!!

i also like the green party;s platform, but living in Alberta... i'd rather vote ndp. not that it matters. fuckin conservatives ALWAYS win here... and the "west" has no power federally anyway.. bla bla bla...

sorry... i like blanket statements.

woot
