What are your favourite venues? clubs? rave party places? etc.

What are the venue's you absolutely hate?

for size it would have to be richards on richards.

I love the lotus for its dirty, dark basement vibe, and the fact that it has kickass sound. That is the club I have the easiest time getting drunk and just dancing the whole night at. Sonar also deserves an honorable mention, as does the Commadore.

Least favorites? The Drink, Altlantis (wettbar, whatever they're calling it now) they're just both awkwardly set up

I've only been to three raves and I have to say for size it was Plaza (Grand Finale), for sound it was The Royal Banquit Room (Godspeed) and for transportation it was Heritage Park ( Spooky 8)

^ werd... shine is a shitty club. dont get me wrong they have some of the best nights there, but OMG is it ever friggin tiny inside, plus the low cealings make it feel even smaller.

Hmmmmm. Depending on what you are looking for in a club. I have had many enjoyable nights at the Purple Onion but I hear the old twilight zone or alexander is dope. For raves nothing tops the Plaza o nations.

Commodore hands down, it is the best venue to see any show.

I hate clubbing so i have no favorite club venues.

As for raving Plaza is still and will probably always be my favorite venue

Worst raving venue would be korean

the royal banquet hall has nothing to do with the sound so props go to masterplan there. as a venue royal banquet is a big pile of flaming tandoori shit.

i like:

~ lotus: for the feel. it's just so unpretentious, probably because it's dark. like myra said, you can just get drunk and dance away and not feel on display. the sound is also kick ass.
~ commodore: for the sound, and size, nothing beats it for big shows.
~ sonar: it's the perfect size. room enough to dance, but not so big you get lost. (granted this is for normal type nights, not packed shows)
~ caprice: comfier lounging areas that most other bars, with the exception of lotus and its kick ass couches.

i dislike:
~ the drink: the dance floor set up is messed.
~ purple onion: i feel like i'm at a highschool dance, not sure why.
~ shine: because it gets SO FRIGGING HOT.
~ the cellar: cuz it's tiny and sweaty.
~ tonic: it's a weird shape, so long and narrow.

worst club is Club West (23 Cordova St)

fav would probably be Lotus (I like the low ceiling and the graffitti) & the bourbon

i love commadore, you can't go wrong wiht 4 bars.

I totally love Shine even though it's a smaller place, 80s nights are heaven and I think the size just makes it more intimate and fun.

I use to love the Bourbon until I saw cockroaches on the seats at my booth, that was kind of gross.

I love DV8, that place has become a regular hangout, the food and drinks are great.

I hate Barfly!

Rave venues:

Favorites: the place that was used for kick it, that venue on Nanaimo with the 711 across the street (where Fractured was held)

I hate Here on Earth, I'll never go to a party there ever again, it's disguisting.
Also not too fond of that place on Victoria and Kingsway because it gets way too hot and the sweat dripping off the walls is totally unhygenic.
