I actually believe that.
I think they still make their money using the same tricks: Upselling at concession. For instance, those 'so-called combos' they offer don't save you money. If you take the time to break down the combos, you'd figure out that you're not saving any money at all by buying the package. for those of you who don't understand why, it's because people don't like making decisions, so they lay out a bunch of options for you.
Second step in upgrading would be the sizes they offer their foods in. like, pop corn for instance.. a Majority of people tend to stop eating their pop corn between the mid-way point of the previews and 5 minutes into the moviie. But they still try to sell tubs of popcorn or Large ass bags. I think i always get suckered into buying the larger size because they always ask when it's super busy and a million people are around, and i end up not caring and up-sizing.
I know there are some people out there who just love pop-corn and can eat 3 or 4 tubs of popcorn in a sitting, but most people will eat the same amount of popcorn regardless of the size of the container they're holding it in, leaving the rest to waste.
