A new computer for me... SOON!
For those that have been trying to reach me via MSN the past couple of days or via email, my laptop died which is why my replies have been delayed. To replace it though, I have a new computer that should be ready by Thursday... I can't wait!!!
Specs: Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz CPU Asus P4P800-E-Deluxe - (800Mhz. FSB) 1GB of DDR RAM 80GB HDD (with 8MB of cache) 16X DVD-ROM/CD rw drive (Black) Sound Blaster Audigy 2 OEM This means I will FINALLY be able to record in my home -- something I haven't been able to do as I was using an older laptop before with a sheat sound card. I can't wait!!! |

As for a video card, I got the NVIDIA 128MB one... The highest end one which I think is the 7800 series! |

Good call getting the Audigy 2. I picked that up about a year ago and it really is convenient. The remote is cool too. Recording quality is unbeatable. Sounds unbelieveably clear, too. Awesome for recording your sets at home, or for ripping vinyl, also love to use it to record internet radio more clearly, cuz I hate missing Mirka's show. Dennis has one of these now, too, I believe. PC still needs an upgrade tho, gotta get another 120 gb hard drive and upgrade my RAM as well, hah. Ram, lol

While the scan was happening (which took forever as it was obviously doing a sector by sector hard drive scan), it did find three bad sectors and then proceeded to move the files in those sectors to a different location on my hard drive. -- I think the files in these sectors were in the WINDOWS/SYSTEM directly which isn't a good thing as normally those are system and setting related files to do with XP configuration, device config, etc... Anyway after this process happened, every time I boot my laptop up now, it just continually reboots once it gets to a certain point in starting XP. -- I can tell it's while it's trying to load certain system or driver files. So yeah, my laptop just reboots now. THANK GOD, I have ALL my critical files/documents on my external 120GB Hard Drive. |
