Every Day - a poem about my old life
I wrote this exactly a year ago when I didnt know much about poetry:
I survived another day, Another painful day. I ignored every noise, Every step, every beat. I survived another sleepless night, I went through the loneliness, I ignored irritating feelings. Counted every breath I took Every second of a minute, Every minute of an hour, Every hour of a day, Every day. I survived another weekend, Through the tears and silent land. Guilt went through my weak bone, Agonized I picked up the phone. I ignored my crazy voice, I survived this conversation, I went through your cage. Counted every breath I took Every second of a minute, Every minute of an hour, Every hour of a day, Every day. Suddenly everything changed. |
