ok.. so u kno wut...
in Toronto & Montreal they have all ge club nites.. AND all age clubs.. even tho they dont sell liquor.. they make alot of money BC = so many years behind.. w/ the mentality " oh it wont work blah blah " u wonder why we're behind.. fuck.. there so many things that if BC let in would be so great.. seriously.. if u put Montreals Nite Life.. in w/ Vancouvers Beauty and nice weather.. IMO we'd be the best place to live.. i mean.. look at Miami... beautiful weather and a crazy nite life.. think bout it and also.. thats why skytrains shoudl run later.. and buses too. |

in regards to the topic... i have to question the motives of a 29 year old who wants to put on an 'all ages' club night. :071: bit of a peter-pan thing going on there or what?? i've only seen this done by nightclubs that lose their license, just as a way to keep some cash flow coming in while they can't serve booze. |

OK: To answer a few of the questions:
1) A club will have no problem with opeing up to an all ages clientele on a tuesday night when they are usually closed. 2) My motives are simple. I remember what it was like when I was that age during the summer months and had little to do that was any fun after 9pm at night. So we ended up getting into whole shit loads of trouble. Also I have had the privilage of not only working but travelling around the entire world and Vancouver is on of the only few major cities that doesn't have an all ages night especially in the summer months. 3) For the people that have said this is a dumb idea because I can't get a beer well you are obviously over 19 and this night is not intended to apease you! 4) 86 Street was packed all the time and everyone from those days knows that it was a great experience. 5) Godessa I respect your opinion but I have been working in and around night clubs since I was 15 years old and many clubs would be willing to open their doors to make some extra money. 6) It also gives up and comming local Dj's another oppotunity to get some exposure and experience playing in front of a decent sized audience. 7) It will also hopefully get some people that have not been exposed to some good house music to give it a try and maybe increase the popularity of the rave industry with the next genereation of ravers. At this point we are simply looking at the possability of this to see if it's something the teenage community would be intrested in having. As far as actual logistics of putting it on that is already taken care of. If people will come we'll make sure it gets set-up for them. Thanks for everyones feedback G |

"that's why Vancouver doesn't have a great nightlife though... because of the day-life. most people here are more into outdoor athletic passtimes, whereas in an urban sprawl like Montreal, clubbing is one of the only extra-curricular activities available."
i couldn't disagree more... montreal is a core city with a very densely packed urban centre, not urban sprawl at all.. it also goes far above and beyond vancouver culturally. there are heaps of galleries/museums, countless street art displays, loads of unique architecture and a summer full of wild festivals.. the F1 weekend, a jazz fest several times the size of vancouver's that literally shuts down the downtown core, street fair after street fair and much more. vancouver's only got montreal inarguably beat in that granola-eating, sport-nut sense. skiiing and sailing in the same day, woohoo. :249: |

they had an underagers club here in vic for a while.....
i think u could only go there if you were between 14-18... it was open for a summer... and then shut down. kids were sneaking in booze and doing drugs in there.. it was getting bad. |

it would be nice if vancouver lowered the drinking limit to 18
vancouver will be alot like sydney.... but then again that can really only be comparable if there were as many people... and i know alot of people wouldnt be down with the shit the city will have to enforce to sustain a bigger population (ie parking meters everywhere) |
