saying ceramic is better than any other high end straightener is the biggest hair myth ever.
ive got non white girl afro curls and i recommend the futura.
i also get my hair done whenever i want it straight. a few times a week. but for me its worth it.

ya it is worth it...i just used my friends the other day to fix some wavy parts and it was so much softer and sleeker than just a flat iron makes it.

also another question. Has anyone tried japanese hair straightening? is it worth the extra money compaired to other chemical straightening procedures? it would be about $300 for my hair, but it says it's permanent until the new hair grows out.

^ Ha ha, I didn't know you could do that till you and Ashely were ironing each others hair before Twisted... I believe my first reaction was... "What the hell is she doing to you?" Ha ha, shows how much I know.

best way to buy one is off Ebay
seriously
as far as price, well you get what you pay for. I'd rather spend $150-200 on something I know is good quality and not super damaging then buy a cheap ass one that'll fry your hair. Dont even get me started on using a clothes iron on your hair. It's not _meant_ for hair! Didn't they do that in the 60's or something?

I got one of those ceramic hair straightener irons for around $60 at the Aura salon in Metrotown. It works really good...so if your hair's already pretty straight or lightly wavy I suggest just getting that one since it doesn't cost a fortune and it works well.
