I took a great anthropology class at UBC - "First Nation Cultural Expressions" - top notch class with some really really open people. It examined how First Nations express their cultures, or had their cultures expressed for them. We looked at early films, poetry, painting, sculpture and prose. It's a seriously troubled discipline though - overbearingly left-wing and running into epistomological issues all the time.

like 4-5 years ago i dated the UBC head of anthropology's daughter. once we went out with her dads anthropology friends and had this chinese chicken that was dipped in clay and then cooked, it was probably the best chicken i have ever eaten.
courtney, you need to learn how to make that chicken. |

I took Anthro 217 at UBC, it was all about culture and communication. Very interesting class, a lot of reading, but good because it focused on all types of communication between various cultures including non-verbal, media communication, oral etc.
There's a lot of wierd shit out there that we rarely get to hear and learn about, so it was cool for that reason. |
