couch > bed
every time i sleep on my futon im getting knots in my neck and not really sleeping that well.
but when i pass out on the couch in the living room everything's awesome. i should just move my alarm clock to my coffee table, but cutting out a whole room is just so wasteful. |

I like one of my couches, it's so comfortable you just can't lie on it after a long day because then you're done for...my livingroom is also a lot cooler temperature wise, but I don't often fall asleep on the couch cos I have too much love for my bed.
I wake my roommate up after passing out on the couch several times a week tho. |

Yeah I have a futon, it flips once every few weeks, it's good for it! |

I went for years without taking care of my futon, and no wonder I had so much trouble sleeping.
yes i had insomnia at the time, but I only realized how much it was affecting my sleep and back etc. was when my sister slept on it (or tried to) and asked how the hell I could sleep on it when she could feel the support beams of the bed through the matress. oops. There should have been instructions when you bought the thing, unless it was used. I'm not sure how often you need to do it, but the thing should be flipped and rolled and beaten quite regularely. |

I can pretty much fall asleep on anything with ease. I usually use my futon, but there are nights that I pass out reading/watching movies on one of the loveseats. (Which should be harder than it is, considering they are a lot shorter than I am tall)

couch as a bed is definately the way to go.
not only is it the most comfortable couch ever, (an aside: why do people buy new couches? mine cuddles me and tell me how much i mean to it every time i sit in it. when i've had a hard day all it does is hold me and doesn't bitch when i watch a Murphy Brown rerun or play nhl94.) but all i have to roll over and i have the ibook w/802.11g for the INTARWEB and work, my cell phone, my tv remove, and controllers for the xbox, ps2, and gamecube. i am thinking of purchasing a minifridge and another microwave to put at the foot of the couch so i will never need to leave, except to poop/pee/shower. my bedroom is a fucking ghost town. there is a bed that is nice to lay clothes out on, and a dresser that only contains socks and underwear. i see it maybe 5 mins a day. i have no idea what to do with it, maybe i should rent it out or put in an art gallery or shoe museum or something. i need the futon as a couch more than i need a bed. i hate people sitting in my sleep space. i'd like to think i have simplified my life to only need 20ft^2 of space and that im some kind of ZEN MASTER but i think the real explination is that im lazy and too easy going. maybe i need to complicate my house just for the sake of it before i get fat or get bedsores. |
