toothbrush, if they're all-white use a diluted bleach cleaner. if they aren't use clothes detergent. rubbing alcohol is good on the rubber and the scuffs. make sure you have oil-based leather treatment on the leather parts and some kind of waterproofing on the non-leather. laces can go through the laundry.
i know some people who put their shoes in a magnet bag and put them through the laundry but the idea scares the shit out of me. if you do that use cold cold cold water. |

If your shoes are leather, I'd also reccomend giving your clean shoes a nice weekly (or even biweekly depending on the weather) spray with a shoe protector (protects from water, also keeps dirt, etc. from sticking around) . A big bottle will set you back about 8 dollars at a shoe store.

its all about shoe shampoo with a toothbrush and the mesh gel brush that gets right into stained fabric. and waterproofing/stainproofing the shoe with an alcohol based shoe protector. i spray all my shoes so its all really easy to clean, keeps the stain on top of the fabric/leather, so it doesn't soak in. u only have to spray it every 3 weeks, and it actually works.
a few of my coworkers put their shoes in the dishwasher.. that ive never tried. and dirty rutty shoes i dont care about i usually just toss it into the wash on a low cycle. now my question.. when reflectors get rubbed off..how in the world do u replace them. they must come out with a touch up paint or something. |
