An amazing, free vacation (if you have Jewish ancestry..)

I just returned from the most awesome experience of my life. I was sent, with a group of people around my age, all over Israel - for FREE.

You may think Israel is a war-torn third world country - nothing could be further from the truth. It is definitely the coolest place I've ever been - full of history, ancient ruins, really fun-loving people, high fashion, clubs and beautiful scenery. In ten days, I kayaked on the Jordan River, climbed a huge mountain to the legendary fortress of Masada, rode a camel into the Judean desert, camped with the Bedouin tribes, hit clubs in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, sat in an ancient Roman amphitheatre and more.

The reason I'm posting this here is.. the trip organizers really want to reach people everywhere, but because in Canada they are based out of Toronto, they have very few people coming from the west coast. So I am acting as ambassador, and honestly, it's free.

There are only two exceptions. The plane leaves from Toronto, and you do have to pay for about half your ticket for the Vancouver-Toronto portion (they reimburse you for the other half). You also have to buy most of your lunches (a few bucks each, breakfast and dinner is free) but other than that.. the plane fare.. the hotels.. the experiences.. everything's free.

To be eligible you have to be between the ages of 18-26 and qualify as "Jewish", which means minimum one Jewish parent. Either one. My mother happens to be Chinese, and my dad is Israeli, so I qualified. You do not have to be practicing/religious, in fact the reason I picked my organizer is because they focus much more on the history, the culture, and getting to know and party with the people. This is NOT a religious trip, more of a cultural/heritage one, and it was the most unbelievable experience of my life. The funding may be cut after this year, so they are trying to get as many people to take advantage of this as possible.

There is no such thing as a Jewish ancestry BTW, that would imply that the Jews are a race. Maybe they were at one point, but the very fact that finding faith in the Torah can make one "Jewish" means that we aren't basing the fact that someibe is Jewish from a genetical structure standpoint. ^^Well if it "totally" destroys it then I think we are being a bit judgmental here, but that's your call. I actually agree with you for the most part, it's just that I don't like SEAN one bit. why do i have first generation immigrant east indian friends with portugese last names? why are there norwegians and russian's with asian facial features and genetic traits that are specificaly mongolian. why do first nations people have asiatic bone structure, facial and dental features? the answer for these questions are the same for why whoopi goldberg is a jew. the answer is is that human populations do not remain static, they migrate and intermarry with other populations. Why do you think there are so many light skinned black people in the united states, its because somewhere down the line theres a white person in the mix. the fact of ther matter si there are specific "jewish" gene's, in fact, weapon programmes specificaly designed to target people who hold these genes have been attempted.
