School

Just wondering what some opinions are concernign going to school for the sake of going to school.

Is it worth taking courses/programs knowing full well that you are goign to have to take something else in the future and that whatever you are gogni to take now will be a waste of time later on?

All the programs I want into are set to start late 2005-2006. I however have to go back to school or basically move out and deal with many consequences concerning not going to school. Don't get me wrong, I want to, even if it is not to benefit in the long run(who knows maybe it will be), I just want to hear some opinions on this.

Am i wasting my time with the petty courses, or should I just not sign up for anything until I get what I really want even though it's like 1-2 years away.
Keep in mind I've already wasted 5 years of my life on a dead end job, even though it pays well.

if you have the money and the desire to learn, i'd say it's totally worth it.

youd be surprised what value you can find in doing school for the sake of school -

I am a big supporter of the 'just go' post secondary movement, just go to \experience, is a valuable thing all in itself

I was somewhat in a similar situation while waiting to get into a specific program. I wanted to take a year off, but decided to go to school while waiting instead.

honesty, I look back now and am glad that I made this decision. going to school for the sake of going to school can really help you build studying skills which could be very beneficial when you do get into that program. on top of that, you may realize new interests lying in other fields. this is exactly what happened with me as I am now pursuing two degrees.

and like everyone says, knowledge is always an awesome thing. good luck Chris!

after a year off...i kinda want to go back.
I just found out that to take the courses I want i'm going to have to upgrade at cap first..so I'm doing that in september(hopefully)
I'de say...If you have the money and the concentration to go back, then go..
if not, don't go back yet because it's just a waste of time and money.

education is a life long journey....
the more educated u are, the better off u'll be in the future
the courses ur taking now might be bullshit, but u can fall back on them if things don't go so well with the program that ur waiting for
plus, ppl constantly change their mind, so who knows if ur decision will stay the same in 2005/06

but my advice to u is, DO NOT take summer semesters !!

anyways, good luck with ur decision

Personally i think if a person is going to school for the sake of going to school. i think that time should be speant on working and making as much flow as u can. If your going to school in search for an interest then thats coo but other wise nope

Personaly I like the securety of somthing under my belt career wise and feel more knowlegable/"smarter" then b4 DUHH.

Just do somthing that your really intrested in or really determined to accomplish and I wouldnt have any regrets.

you should take the course that i told yyou too as a filler to satisfy your mom and maybe get a better idea of what you want to do when 2005 rolls around

i dotn think you have a clue whats out there and i think that that course i gave you will open your eyes to alot of possibilites as well as teach you a few important skills and get yo momma off your back.

theres so many possibilities with trades and shit at bcit i think that intro course will help you find one you enjoy..that plastics course..well i dont think going into that would be such a good idea, especially since you dont even know anyhting about it.
