$3000 would not last you 6 months in mediterranean europe.

if it's after air fare, i'd go down to central/south america. yucatan, belize, guatemala (tikal!), costa rica, down the coast of brazil to rio, fly over to cusco, and spend some time in peru.

that's essentially the first leg of a trip i'm planning for next year, then i'm flying over to indonesia (bali for christmas anyone?), up through thailand, cambodia, vietnam, china, fly to nepal, down around india, a month in turkey, then another month making my way frorm istanbul to cairo through the middle east, and finishing off by exploring kenya and witnessing the great migration.

so, realistically, i'd put the $3000 in my savings account to save for that trip. i still need to save at least 8k before next may. :S
