Equity
Boooooya.
I bought my apartment a year and a half ago - my neighbour is now selling her suite which is smaller than mine and difference between her asking price (which it seems that she will get) to what I paid is $60 000! I'm rich! (in theory...) I know that market prices will go down in the near future - but still, I'm excited for the moment! |

market prices for housing in vancouver never go down, as long as the building your in dosnt spring a leak, or the neighbourhood you're in turn into a fuckin ghetto you can expect the value of your propety to continously appreciate, however its not likely that the current rate of appreciation will be sustainable over the real long term. we probably got a good 2-3 years before the increase in housing prices begins to stabilize, tho if the ndp is elected next year its extremely likely that it will have an immediate(they wont even have do anything but get elected) negative effect on housing values as well as the economy.. owning a house is dope.... |

My apartment that i bought only 6 months ago in port moody is now on the market for 40,000 more then what i paid for it. after it sells i'll wait till another deal comes along, buy it, wait, flip it. your profile says you are from vancouver, any housing in vancouver will be worth a pretty penny in the future. vancouver while the most livable city in north america has the lowest average price for new condo's, this is expected to raise GREATLY. One great thing about our downtown core is that there is no freeway that drops people in the middle of it, unlike every other major city in n.a, this alone will keep our land values in the downtown core high for decades to come.
