RYAN YOU JERK. I was with you this night and I dont remember anyone pressuring you to take a drink. Ahem. Cant use peer pressure as an excuse for drinking and driving.And btw.. Im pretty sure you were intoxicated. ;D

I got a 12 hour suspension about a month ago. I also have my N..so obviously 0% alcohol in your system as stated many times before. I had about 2 or 3 drinks and when I blew into the breathalizer in a slower and constant breath.. I blew 0.08% which is equivelent to about "half a can of beer" (which is what the cop told me) Whethere or not my liscence is suspended is up to the motor vehical branch. NOT the police. They have no say it in. It all depends on your driving record. My friend had over 8 accidents, 3 speeding tickets and 2 DUI's before they suspended her liscence for 3 months.. which was brought down to a month after sending them a letter. So basically what happens after a DUI is different for all people.

I heard from my mom that if you move to canada from a nother country, and you have a full lisence from that country, B.C will give you a full lisence, no test, nothing. Is this true? If so I find it extremely unfair. I can't imagine any other country have as strict of a graduated lisence program then B.C.'s, so why should they automatically get their lisence when we have to go through all this bullshit and pay all these fees?

So if he got his liscense suspended for 12 hours, because of a DUI, that automatically changes his road test date, that makes no sense to me, I must be missing something, because I dont get that.

you can drive any car, go as fast as you like, and the tickets get sent to your home in ching-gwa-chee-choo, China, and you wont have to pay it because it's out of jurisdiction. :)

It's good stuff, i've been looking into getting an international drivers license. :y:

^ basically if you do anything at all to lose your license, you have to go buy the new N rules when you get it back.

part of the new N rules is, if you get a ticket or suspension, your two year waiting period is reset. therefore you have then have to wait another two years before you can go for your full road test.

ur gonna get ur license suspended anywhere from 1 - 3 months... then u'll be on probation till u get ur full license, meaning any speeding/running red lights will take ur license away for a year...

i got a 24 hr suspension.. sent a letter to the superintendant, stating that i needed my car for work to pay for school, and to travel from work to the new west and poco douglas campuses...i got a letter back saying the suspension was taking off and i went straigth to probation which i still haven't gotten my N yet which i should ....

they had no right to breathalize u without a reason, or without u admiting u had 1 beer at bar

i go back to my buddies car and wait. and wait. hey did i meantion i waited. cop comes back and makes me get out again. theres a tow truck so i know im fucked. they tow the car my budy is choked as are my other friends. i get my licensed suspended for 12 hours and i gotta pick it up tomorrow. i asked the fucking cop if it goes down as a dui on my licsense he says no its just suspended. so ticket no nothing. i had no N up either. waht the fuck.

If you get a 12 or 24 hour suspension with a N it's an automatic 1 month suspension. You can expect your letter in the mail in about 2-3 weeks. And don't bother appealing it, either. My boyfriend didn't even get the drunk test OR a breathalizer and they still took it away (and he'd only had one beer). Sucks, but you've gotta deal.

Oh, and also you'll revert back to the new N rules - only one passenger, and you'll have to start your 2 years of your N all over again. It's fucking shitty, but I guess they're being harsh so people won't do stupid stuff.

A month isn't thaaaaaaaat bad, though. I got mine suspended for getting too many tickets when I was 17, it sucked but I pulled through.

OK If you don't wanna revert back to the new rules, DO THIS:

GO TAKE YOUR CLASS 5 TEST BEFORE YOU GET YOUR SUSPENSION LETTER! That way, you will still get a suspension but NOT go back to the new N rules.

This happened to me - I disputed a ticket when I had my N, after it had already been suspended once. I would have lost my lisence for anywhere from 3 months - 1 year but I disputed the ticket, and before the court date I was able to take my class 5 test. I passed the test, and lost the dispute, so I still had to pay the ticket BUT I didn't get another suspension.

If you go pass your Class 5 test BEFORE your lisence gets suspended, then you will still have your class 5 AFTER the suspension.

DOOOOOOO IT!
If you can't get in within the next week, on any days off that you have go and sit there and wait for a cancellation, then it will be your turn and you're fucking GOLD - just make sure you pass!!!!!!!
