In St Louis he had Adam Oates to set himup, in dallas he had like modano, niewendyke and aload of other talent. Detroit he had lang, Yzerman, Shannahan you name it. Everyteam h e's played on was a stanley cup contender, and with detroit and dallas a winner as well. Even St Louis was a stanley cup contender. This is a really good test. I think he will only get upwards of maybe 50-55 points this year with about only 20 or 23 goals. |

^ i have to agree with the sellout part. The canucks fan have restored faith in the canucks system, and its been earned.
Since 2001 the canucks have improved significantly. Starting by making it to the playoff's in 2001. Were the Canucks selling all the home games than no but starting in 2002 and on canucks got better, and as a team gets better usually they will sell out games. Especially if its somewhere like Vancouver where hockey runs supreme |

Oh because when I was like 6 he was my favorite player. He had an endorsement deal with Cheerio's and you were supposed to get an autographed hockey card of his in the cereal box. I made my grampa go out and get it for me and alas, no card. So my dad helped me write a letter to the cheerio's company... And then they sent me a coupon for a free box of fruit loops and no card.
It was a sad sad day. Thus for I have blamed him for it, and hated him ever since. Last edited by Silverwinged; Aug 09, 04 at 05:28 AM. |

Silverwinged im with you. I am gonna agree with Hot Karl that Bret Hull has always performed and has never been a bust yet. Yes he's old but he was old last year too and contributed with a good showing. His shot is still better then alot of other peoples. But even though i agree doesnt mean i like him. I hope he dies soon or gets smoked by Bert or something

^ but think for a second. Out of Calgary, St Louis, Dallas and Detroit.
St Louis, Dallas and Detroit having good to great superstars. the only team that wasn'ty as great was Calgary. He has yet to prove anything with a weak team such as say a florida panthers, or anaheim mighty ducks. Paul Kariya proved even on a team like Anaheim he can do it. i wanna see bret hul take the coyotes to the finals. |

hahahahahahahahahaha ok i'm done no wait hahahahahahaha
sorry i just find that really amusing. are you sure you didn't have to sign some thing on the cereal box send it in to get a free autographed card. p.s: its easier to just go to a game and get the autograph. thats how i did it |

I see this as part of Wayner's bigger "I'm an American media celebrity" complex.
Glitz, glamour, and the public eye. Thats all that drives old gretz these days. That look in his eye - no its not the love of hockey or the desire to win - thats him fantasizing about counting his benjamins and being interviewed on TV. |

haha box jokes lol.
but anyways on to your post. yea i agree this move is all for the glamour. I can't see hull performing well anyways. Especially considering the season will most likely be cut in half ro 41 games or abit more. but with a star player comes fans wanting to come watch. phoenix needs all the fans they can get to. At least its not as bad as it once was in Carolina. Man did that arena get empty haha |
