Yes hull has never been a bust on a GOOD TEAM but has he played on any team that wasn't a stanley cup contender. Other than Calgary.

In St Louis he had Adam Oates to set himup, in dallas he had like modano, niewendyke and aload of other talent.

Detroit he had lang, Yzerman, Shannahan you name it.

Everyteam h e's played on was a stanley cup contender, and with detroit and dallas a winner as well.

Even St Louis was a stanley cup contender.

This is a really good test. I think he will only get upwards of maybe 50-55 points this year with about only 20 or 23 goals.

like i said, hull has missed literally 4-5 games in his 3 years in detroit. the guy still gets the job done, and like i said, 2 million is not overpaying for 55+ points per year. overpaying you say? well then, i bring the case of brendan morrison. most points ever? 71, last year? 60. well he's gettin 3.5 mill. where as hull has outscored him the last 3 years combined. yet hull's at 2.25mill. and a team of superstars? fine, but nobody on detroit has scored 40 goals in the last 3 seasons. where as vancouver has naslund and bertuzzi. so morrison is playing on the same line with bigger stars. Brian Burke was smart to resign this guy because he is the BIG advertisement for the team. You ask the many Canucks fans out there which is their biggest star for the Vancouver Canucks and they will most likely say Bertuzzi. Think about this for a second also: He is much younger player than Hull, he his like a train when it comes to bodychecks so watch the fuck out for him, he is able to fight and dish out good punches if need be, he is a grinder, and EXCELLENT puck handler, beautiful goal scoring abilities, LEADER on his own behalf, and makes sure he protects his team any way possible. The characteristics of this beast is what drive the fans wild. So you don't have him here, you won't have that many more fans at the game. It's about who is on the ice and who is producing on the ice.

Just remember, I did not dock Hull for any of his player attributes. He is everything you say he is, except I would rather invest my money for a long term project rather than a short term project like Hull. It would not be a wise decision to bring in someone as old as he is, where you can have a younger guy in your lineup for a few years and let HIM adapt to the game plans and line mates. He is a good player, but not for long he won't be :(

^ i have to agree with the sellout part. The canucks fan have restored faith in the canucks system, and its been earned.

Since 2001 the canucks have improved significantly. Starting by making it to the playoff's in 2001. Were the Canucks selling all the home games than no but starting in 2002 and on canucks got better, and as a team gets better usually they will sell out games.

Especially if its somewhere like Vancouver where hockey runs supreme

Yes he's old but he was old last year too and contributed with a good showing. His shot is still better then alot of other peoples. But even though i agree doesnt mean i like him.
