chai is pronounced chai in russian and thats where the word ORIGINATED FROM...
india had another word for chai but in the past 100 years russia and india did alot of trading and lof of russians moved to india and the word spread around and changed...

it started in russia and its proper pronounciation is CHAI! same as they say it in english now days
