New job time

Time for me to get out and start looking for a new job.

I've been working at a local A&W for about 10 months and the work sucks hardcore, but the people there were all really good people to work with and all in the 17-22 age range so I made quite a few friends.

Now that school has started a lot have quit, and a lot moved onto better jobs, so its time for me to throw in the towel.

I live in the Port Moody/Coquitlam area, just wondering if you knew any places that were hiring. (No fast food or restaurants)

Im 19, very outgoing and have excellent people skills.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Other than 10 months of experience at an A&W, what other types of work experience do you have?

Some other questions you need to answer for yourself as well:
- what kind of work interests you?
- what is your passion?
- what type of industry do you want to work in or do you care?

The reason why I mention these it that people will turn around and say they just want a job, but then they will find one, get started and realize that the job sucks ass because that's not what they wanted to do in the first place.

Some logical places to reply are some of the big boys in town:
- Future Shop was mentioned
- London Drugs is decent... they provide good training and pay relatively well.

Cheers.

Fast Food blows, no doubt. It is a good job to get your foot in the door anyway. I used to work at Wendy's... what a fuckin waste.

I think any place like Future Shop or Blockbuster would be sweet. Just to give you some suggestions.. I don't live in Vancouver, so I don't know who is hiring.

I work at Macdonalds and the Bay ...

Although fast food may seem like a waste of time :

It looks very good on your resume!

Showing that your good with customer service and cooperating with fellow employees.

Totally, the experience you get is second to none... but there is also the experience of actually going to work there.

I was in Customer Service for a good 4 years (3 or 4 jobs that centered around CS). I learned a ton and yes I will admit I had some fun, but it was time to move on and I can never see myself going back.
