What's this? You can get more than an empty carb out of pasta?
Seriously, whole wheat and multigrain pastas are awesome. They actually have their own taste, too. Screw the limp white noodle. Who'd have thought that pasta could actually be nutritious for you. PS: Try Kamut Wheat pasta. Kamut is a great, protein-full whole grain that tastes awesome. |

Kamut is a type of wheat.
You wouldn't know it from most wheaty foods, but there are a ton of different types of wheat out there, and they can be pretty different... like Spelt, Kamut, Rye, and Durum. Kamut is regaining popularity since people (organic farmers, mostly) began cultivating it again recently. It was pretty much and indo-european wild wheat before that, as far as I know. It's also become popular because many people who are typically allergic to wheat or gluten can eat it quite readily. |
