Kids in Need?
Do any of you have family friends, nieces, etc whose parents don't have a lot of money for things like clothes?
I try to give away all of my old clothes to young girls whose parents don't have a whole lot of money...I just gave away a couple of bags to the girls I normally give them to, but I still have a ton of stuff up for grabs. The stuff is all generally a size xs or small, and would probably fit most smaller girls age 11-16. I've got lots of hoodies, zip-ups, t-shirts, a couple of skirts and a couple of pairs of pants/jeans (sizes 24-26) that I'd like to give away. Most of them haven't been worn more than 8-10 times. PM me and let me know if you have anyone in mind! Thanks! <3 |

Great idea Natalie... good karma for you for sure!
I have always been a supporter of the Vancouver Food Bank and stuff (IE: Miracle on Seymour Street, food drives, etc.) but I think it may be a good idea to have a clothing drive. I have a TON of shit I want to give away. I will chat with the FnK team about a Tribeca event or something or maybe I will put it together myself at Tribeca. |

Big Brother
Sally Anne Hospitals there's 20 million +1 organizations out there to help those having a hard time. If running short on ideas/causes, check out the yellowpages or your local community center. Good on 'ya for getting involved :y: |

There are lots of organizations that would be more than happy to take the clothes, but alot of the time they end up selling them to raise money for their services (ie: Salvation Army). I'm not saying thats a bad thing but its nice to donate directly like Natalie does because that way you know exactly who is receiving it and what they are receiving. Thats one thing I love about such programs as adopting a family at christmas time. You know they will be receiving all of what they need, right away, and its so much more satisfying knowing that you supplied mom with that suit she needs to do interviews, or the art kit that a creative kid wanted.
Kraig, I Love the idea of organizing a clothing drive event and I might not be in vancouver when it happens but I'd like to help if I am. |
