I played at Matrix
It was one of the best parties I ever went to.
I had a flawless set and the people dancing were going off. You simply can't judge a company over one mistake. Read my informative post in the promo section for the full details. |

wanted to have it at the PNE, no permit i got an e-mail from undernet saying they mite have it at an airport hanger in delta, that didn't go thru... ended up at riverside/palace... packed solid. couldn't even dance. good party though... except for the fact that all the headliners were in the palace with the VIP's, and everyone else in riverside got the usuals.... |

pfft
I remember when undernet first came around, handing out their propaganda about how if everyone joined they could be like one big family and that only together can big venue raves be possible. The airport, bc place, the colliseum, the skies the limit and nowhere is out of our grasp as a collective. I was wondering when they'd start showing there face after all the fiascos.

undernet* made pretty good headway over the years, finding interesting loopholes in city bylaws and regulations.
i am a card carrying member of undernet* which was how we were able to party as membership collectives until the various cities ammended their bylaws to include membership organizations. undernet* was the ONLY promo company that was able to go all night on new years 2000. not to shappy. then april 1, 2000 they tired to hold a party called The Matrix. this is the story... the REAL TRUE story: they tried to get the agrodome. they sold tickets anticipating the agrodome. things fell through. they tried to get the Collossus movie theatre in delta. that fell through. then at the last minute, happy house productions cancelled their Foolproof party at riverside, so undernet* moved to riverside and palace. but they didn't have enough capacity for all the ticket holders. a near riot broke out, and police went nuts. this was the second moratorium on raves in richmond, after cyberhippies party: golden groove in september resulted in 3 GHB overdoses. then richmond opted to introduce tight bylaws and totally fucked the scene in richmond. by may 1, 2000~ the bylaw was in place. as for undernet*... they never refunded the thousands of kids who couldn't get into the party. recently they have been in the papers for their work in the afterhours scene, fighting vancouver laws that outlaw any late night afterhours clubs. (re: the Victory afterhours.) for more info~ the Richmond Review: april 5, 2000 vancouver sun, april 4, 2000 the richmond news april 5, 2000 vancouer sun, april 13, 2000 westender march 30-april 5, 2000 issue TAAAAADAAAAAAAAAA =) silverfish ~L7~ New rave photos added daily at: http://members.fotki.com/silverfish/ |

NIGEL! you were at Golden Groove too!!!!! wierd, i don't remember seeing you there. mind you, i didn't really know you then =)
yeah~ that party was pretty bloody awfull. the gangsters scared the shit out of me. did you actually make it in? lots and lots of people were stuck outside. ugh. but it was at the palace, and i really like that space. it cirtainly ranks up there with the top 10 of my worst parties. Simple 3 is also my number 1. number 2 is Hunny (1998). *shudders* ironic that both were twisted parties! (well~ hunny was conscious groove, which later desolved and reformed as twisted). silverfish ~L7~ New rave photos added daily at: http://members.fotki.com/silverfish/ |
