we have them in our fraternity because dirty irish boys like to leave rotting food in the hallway.
best way to get rid of them is to get rid of any food they might be eating. they die in one day, so they'll all be dead once you cut off their food source pretty quick |

How to Get Rid of Fruit Flies
Fruit flies can be a pain, especially in the summer. They're hard to get rid of. But try this! Mix the following ingredients together in an open jar or other container (the quantities are relative to how many flies you're trying to get rid of): 1/2 qt water (2 c) 2 T sugar 2 T (white) vinegar a couple drops of liquid dishsoap Leave the mixture sitting out in the infested area, as long as needed. |

Lithe and I are currently testing the above method. We'll let you know.
I watched a couple of the little bastards hanging out on the rim of the jar. They looked like they were talking it over.. "I dunno man, seems to good to be true... all that sugar.. AND vinegar?.. come on.." "I'm hungry dood!... I'm gonna go for it" "Suit yourself.. I'm outta here" |

No no no. Make a fruitfly trap. Its easy. Roll some paper into a tube, with one real small hole at one end and a big hole at the other. Grab a jar. Put a bit of fruit into the jar. Tape the tube into the jar so that the only way in is the little hole. . Fruitflys go in, but can't get out. When it fills up and you don't have anymore fruitflys, say goodbye to the jar.

I don't like using chemicals, but my old work used to just spray a water/bleach mixture in the air and one surfaces....seemed to do the trick.
you should look for a nest too.....If it's such a bad problem they might be nesting somewhere in your kitchen. |
