they suck...we should put em all on an island and gas em...badluck having mother fuckers....hahahahahha
BRING ON THE BAD KARMA BITCHES!! if you know me you know its a joke. p.s you make yo own luck, id be willing to bet that maybe 10% of the homeless population are there because they got fucked over by society, the rest of them ended up on the street cuz they fucked up....the only people i honestly have sympathy for is single parents and unlucky mother fuckers who end up broke because they used to work a trade and then got injured and cant work anymore. p.p.s oh and i forgot about all the mentally destrubed people that the ndp put on the streets when they started shutting down mental instiutions to save money back in the early 90's. dumb comment. and yeah I bet about 10% of them just had some bad luck and ended up out on the street, and for the other 90% of them, probably drug related. I feel sorry for the 10% of them. |

iuno.. i determine in my own eyes who needs it.. if someone has a sign that says their starving and such i'll buy them food.
i've bought them meals.. the other day i bought one a hotdog and some water along with a few bucks on robson.. lookedl ike he was praying... my last 10 dollars went to him at the time... i feel for them a lot of times... especially the ones that are blatantly in need of help. not all turned to drugs... |

I remembered I tried to buy this guy some pizza... and he started whinning about rather having the money instead.. so I offered him McDonalds.. and he said he wanted a sit down meal, and he would really perfer the money instead... I was pretty shocked... so I kicked his teeth in.. now he can only eat babyfood
P.S. the later part of that story might have only happened in my head |

People are homeless for the following reasons:
Severe mental disorders (Neurosis, Extreme victim-complex...) OR Drug user or recovering drug user Some choose their poison, some are dealt it at birth. They're sure as hell not there for lack of opportunity - everyone here has an opportunity to get off their ass and do shit that changes your life for the better. I feel for the people with mental disorders, but I've no time for the people who chose the drug life. Besides, compared to what I saw in Asia, they've got it pretty fucking good here. |

Anjew,
That's so nice of you to think of something like that. You are a kind-hearted soul. (i'm living proof, lol) Ok, I live in the west end on Davie Street.... and things just seem to get worse around here. There was always the core group of bums and pan handlers in this area, and we would always give them change and food, blankets and pillows.... BUT.... Then they started to get *comfortable*... bringing their friends down.... basically taking advantage of the kind people in this area. My boyfriend Craig and I even saw 2 of them on the skytrain one day, with bag fulls of groceries. We were so fucking mad. We had just given the guy 5 dollars in change and he probably went and spent it on drugs. It was so disheartening to know the government DOES subsidise these people... they get their welfare cheques at the end of the month, spend all the money, then by the last 2 weeks of the month, the pan-handlers in the area are PLENTY. They flock here. It's rediculous. The streets and dumpster areas are FILTHY because of this. We can't even walk down our alley without wanting to vomit from the smell of their feces and garbage they've left everywhere. Another thing about the *comfortable part*..... We live 11 stories up in our apartment. We are CONSISTENTLY woken up by THESE SAME PAN-HANDLERS all nights of the week at ALL hours of the night with thier DRUNKEN PARTIES and DRUG BENDERS and DUMPSTER DIVING ALL NIGHT. It's so so so unfair. Because we are waking up to go to SCHOOL and GO TO WORK the next morning... trying to make a fucking living for ourselves and THEY WAKE US UP and have NO RESPECT for the apartment and area that WE PAY TO LIVE IN. I know this may sound completely outrageous to most of you. But when a bum asks me for change, then pulls out a fucking cigarette... he can seriously starve himself and it wouldn't phase me. I live literally from dime to dime. I had to quit smoking because I couldn't afford it... why can't HE?? I'm trying to earn an education and make something of myself, yes with the occasional drug or drinking bender, but I don't depend on the generosity of others to afford it. It's nice to help a person out in their time of need, but these people make a living off other people's work. I think a better idea would be to head down to the local women's shelter, and give food + money to the mothers, children and babies... who have had to leave EVERYTHING they ever had to escape a dangerous living situation. |

when it comes to homless people i feel for the younger ones......i used to be on the streets when i was younger so i know how it can be.......as for the thirty year old people who are still on the street i feel little sympathy for them.....you should be able to clean your act up and get off the street sooner or later
