k, we all wanna go back to those times.. yes
can we go back to those times.... no

why?

Because theres far too much drama, the parties now are a dime a dozen, everyones bitter from drugs, yadda yadda yadda.

We couldnt go back if we tried on it.

especially because ppl that have been around +5 years are rare!!! everyone else has been around for like 6 months... n dont have the slightess wut raves use to be like!

exert and et bros raves were the first raves i ever went to, where people were friendly and would come say "hey! are u having a funtime?!?!"

i miss getting so excited to go to a rave..and wear whatever, and like someone posted...those flex fit hats where people had their own names on them! i still have mine

most of all, i miss plaza

it's been 5 years, and where have all the kandykids gone?! Raves 5 years ago had like, full out khandykids....and everyone dressed up a bit, whether it be a crazy hat, neon shirt, mickey gloves, reflector vest - everyone had SOMETHING, and everyone was NICE...like i'd literally meet a hundred people a party...now, i'll meet at most 10-20 :(
I miss those old "terms" like, "ROLLS" hahaha, some places (like Toronto) still use the term "rollin" haha...
To be straight up and honest, i miss the old drugs! E is not the same nowadays, like who woulda thot that they'd put HEROIN in E 5 years ago?! hell no! now it's a common thing...disgustingggg
I miss iMix...i miss Magic Mountain....i miss SIMPLE!!!!!!!! :(
Bottom line is (as Veni mentioned) - WHERE IS THE VIBE?!!! seriously mannngggg....starting FIGHTS at raves?! thats woulda been so out of place 5 years ago....*sigh*...TNA + heels + Versace at raves compared to the phat pants of the 90s....*sigh*....khandy?! wats that! like at twister, there was literally ONE khandykid (no it was not me, unfortunately i was too drunk to put on khandy that nite)....boohoo

Okay, enough of being sad....i'm still happy we even HAVE a rave scene...things change, people change, but the concept will remain the same! Rave to the grave!!! :D

wow....5 years eh.....that would have ment u started partying when u were 12....holy shit....ur hardcore buddy

Hmm. I definitely do miss seeing people doing kickstep and such. I'm afraid I never learned that kind of thing. I've practiced funk styles such as waving and popping, but never caught on to the fancy rave-style footwork (and hat tricks!) that you tend to see in breaks/jungle rooms. But damn, I would love to learn. It's never too late! I don't suppose there are any old school ravers on here that wouldn't mind teaching some of their old moves? You know, to keep it alive, and so forth? You could make a video, or post descriptions... I would be very appreciative!

Damn. The Rupert Kickstep! Those were the days, heh. All us blokes and blokettes from then have pretty much evolved our own variations over the years but if you ever get a group of us together, you'll usually see some of it lurking in the footwork still. :)

yea they do actually....and it's actually pretty huge, but it's kidna split between junglists and khandykids...and i'm not talking about the kind of junglist we have here, i'm talking hardcore, goth-metal-rock-and-jungle-loving junglists (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just a contrast with the khandykids)........i was at WEMF 2004 this year in TO (World Electronic Music Festival), and i tell ya, that was one of the best parties i've ever been to....three day rave with five MASSIVE stages!!!! the thing about dear old Toronto is that there's only a small minority of ravers who actually give a shit about the headliners....i mean, the headliners for the trance stage were like, off the top, and no one gave a shit - but everyone was dancing like the world was gunna enddddd, there was absolutely NO ONE sitting, and when i was floored and sat down, i got like 50 hugs from ppl who thot i was having a bad trip (i wasn't....but yknow, MDMA does that to ya sometimes) *sigh* haha i love Toronto, they refer to E as a noun....like, instead of saying, "u want some E", they say, "u want some Es?" hahaha and they still use the term ROLLIN!!!! last time i used rolllin was at Terminal Velocity......haha
