no offense to black people at all, but...

Stop right there.
Another thing! Don't even bother saying "No offence......"
Because 10 times out of 10 the folloing statement WILL be offensive! So If you must say something so rude, then just say it! Dont use that "no offence" crap!

ooohhh good topic tim! here i go blabbin on and on:

i'm a big hiphop geek and i totally feed off it...especially r&b. It totally depends what kid of hiphop u play at raves... FOR SURE it has to be some kind of remix..because if they play radio versions of the songs and tats it.... it's gonna be a big deja vous of highschool dances... and ya u'll be attracting more youngings to raves. its not a bad idea to play hiphop but right now at raves they play a good amount of hiphop already! mc doing their rhyming is wicked and that should totally continue. a few hiphop songs won't hurt...example was at simple they played a wicked mix of "usher- you remind me" and damn....i wuz busting my ass when i heard that. it's nice to hear something different at a rave sometimes. even thuogh i'm a big hiphop fan i don't really think raves should have a room just for hiphop... raving is a very original scene and adding hiphop to it...it makes it really... "mainstream". and ya... ppl grinding in a room and then ppl bustin in a breaks room... it's so diff. (EVEN THOUGH I KNOW PPL THAT GRINDS TO BREAKS...*cough cough* happ-e) hehehehehehee. neways, i totally agree in u're positive ideas about making more money and opening up more venues and attempt to change the reputation. but for real... no more hoochies nor teenyboppers...PLEASE!

blink- hahaha i so agree with u... i'm a hiphop nut i'm chinky.. don't have to be black or a wigga to like hiphop. hehehe keep it up! luv ya babes!

and ya.....SUMMERLUV HIPHOP STAGE?!?!?! DROOLLLSSSSSS!!!!

hiphop FO LYFE!

I love hip hop!

bring it on!!!!! I like it when they have that second room wiht hip hop and jungle..it's great!
i hate that gangsta rap shit...but i like the scratching and mc stuff with a bit of jungle.
at summerlove the hip hop was dope, but when like checkmate and concise came on with like the matching ensembles i was like GO BACK TO AMERICA ( i don't know if they are canadian or american...but ther were playing gangsta hardcore american style rap!)

I've heard hip hop and rap played at a few parties and I always have to leave the room cuz I just can't stand it. I don't really care much for scratching or MCing or some of the idiotic gangsta lyrics of rap... it's just not fun to listen to, much less dance to.

I think someone said it earlier, but it wouldn't really seem much like a rave if hip hop and rap, and the scene it brings with it, became a larger focus.

I should have said, why don't they get a hip-hop dj to headline a party instead of WHAT IF...The rave scene started playing hip-hop/rap at parties?. :Power-P:

But anyways, yah.

blink said my point is, that I have tons of little hip-hop,R&B,etc. lovers, as my good friends, and not very many of them are as you have just described. So please, the next time you write something so open-minded, (and I'm not being sarcastic, your post is quite open-minded, and unique.) please keep the stereo-types as an inside voice.
I didn't mean to stereotype anyone who listens to music. Unfortunetly there is a lot of stereptyping when it comes to music here. I agree with you, music should be colorless.

Checkmate grew up by Metrotown and I think uhm Concise is from Surrey, not sure though. Ya, I heard about there set, a lot of people were shocked by it.

What is a wigger? Someone who listens to rap or someone who trys to be black or is it both?

hey. BLiNK. the only reason why i said "no offense" is because i know what i said was stereotypical. sure, i've seen lots of black people at parties, and sure, they probably listen to rap.
also, at parties, i'be made friends with black people. they were nice people!
and i'm sure most of them are!

the thing is. i was talking stereotypically.

and galaxie. i'm sure you have seen many black guys that dance good. even i have! but what i was talkin about in that post was like rappers in music videos and shit. where they just move their arms... thats what i was referring to.
i wasn't talkin about breaks. or breakers.. (i'm not familiar with the terms)...

clear anything up?

NO.

Who says they can't dance? In their videos they may not dance, but I'll betcha some of them could probably rip shit up.

Anyways, I don't want to argue about this 'cause you just made a few stereotypical remarks, now your realize that you were wrong, but you're too stubborn to admit your realization to the rest of us. Too bad. *shrug* I have better things to do right now than argue this...I need sleep.

underground shit is always cool at raves. Like swollen members and dj z-trip, who I know isnt stricly hip hop but plays some cool shit. Big names though, like gangsta rap can fuck right off. I remember these guys from detroit at summerlove came up before swollen, fucked they sucked, had to get over to one of the other stages pronto. But shit like swollen and dilated peoples I think attract the same kind of easy going rave crowd. and probally would be an excellent idea to bring in a extra little cash at vancouver parties. And if your so against it being there, just dont listen to it. And people who think its going to attract people with attitudes, to late because there are already alot of big egos and attitude at parties today.

you're kidding right?!?!? soooo, what you're trying to tell me is you have never seen hoochies dancing at raves before??? hmmmm, kinda makes me wonder.

myself personally, i grew up listening to rap, reggae, soul. i think that if it was brought to a party, it would probably draw in some what of a different crowd. if ya didn't want to listen to it, you could always go find a different room where they were playing stuff you did like. there's always going to be people who'll like such and such played at a party and there will be others who wont. meh, music is great.

by the way, pegasus, that comment you made was tooooooootally wack. good job sherlock.

If anyone's ever been to a "real" hip hop event, you'll realize that the hiphop crowd isn't all that different that the "raving" crowd..in fact in most cases they're even friendlier and openminded, just maybe not as plurry and mushy.. but anyhoo.. I think having hiphop dj's at party's is a goodidea..just as long as they're not playing top 40 rap i think its all good.. bboybreaks are fun to dance to.. not to mention most hiphop battle dj's/turntablist would put electronic dj's to shame.

I'd have to agree, to listen to hip hop and such, there are concerts for that.

It'd be like if punk or goth or country bands started playing.
