Cyberkinetics Inc. - BrainGate
http://www.wireheading.com/misc/implant.html
(That site ^^^ is a lil strange but when I tried to get the actual link from The Boston Globe they wanted money n I said fuck that.) Personally I think this is just absolutely amazing and could really help a lot of people. I for one would totally sign up for a chip in the good ol nogging to control a computer. The only thing that kinda irks me is that the first trial has been done on some 24 year old football jock who'll prolly just spend all his time playing video games and surfing porn instead of learning new things. Here's Cyberkinetics page on BrainGate if you wanna know more. Editted to add: Here's a more professional website http://www.news-medical.net/?id=5440 Last edited by cerah; Oct 16, 04 at 10:48 AM. |

this could be an awesome breakthrough. i've heard that they might be able to make chips that connect the spine neural pathways again, making the person able to walk. Although what bad uses could this type of technology pose, i can hear the conspiracy theorists going nuts already
