Just plan the trip yourself, chances are that you can get anyting a travel agent would sell you for the same price or less. Start with airfare from expedia, travelocity or another one and then just start reading as much about the destinination as you can. I know when I was a travel agent people walked away spending a shit load more than they meant to, it was my job after all.
