possibility of time travel?
read this recent article in the news:
http://www.voanews.com/english/2004-10-21-voa131.cfm im no astrophysicist but would this mean that there's a possibility for time travel? if we had a transporter with a large enough mass spinning at a high enough speed... what would happen? |

i read it, but i think it would almost be impossible
they are testing the theory in space where they can have no friction due to gravity but here on earth putting that much more effort into this counter balance well i think the energy needed would be close to that of a nuclear reaction (or very very high) /shrug i dunno, my brain hurts |

if you ask me, proving (or having 99% acuracy) a theory from einstein is pretty big news |

Time is relative. We can go so far as slowing down time through hyperspeed, like the space shuttle experiment where two synchronized atomic clocks, one placed in the space shuttle and the other on earth, came back reading different times :310:. But the real threshold from slowing time down, to actually going backwards into it, is light speed. And so far that's impossible.

Have you guys heard of John Titor the time traveller? www.johntitor.com
I dunno if i believe it or not, but this guy apparently came back in time from the future after some sort of apocolypse. I know it sounds silly, but read this. If it's fiction, than whatever.. but if it's true... He predicts a civil war in the states which comes to light in 2005 (but started in 2004). It causes some sorta economic turmoil and Russia, China have a nuclear war where 3 some odd billion people die. Wars tend to happen when new war weapon are made (and at this moment in real life, i saw something about anti-matter weapons).. and God. here's me again with the stoner babble. Now, assuming time travel is possible, you travel back in time. You travel back in time to fix something. You succeed and fix it. You now have the old memory of the thing beiign broken and you going back to fix it...but also, since you fixed it in the past, you also have no memory of it even being broken. Furthermore: If it's fixed through all of time, what reason do you have to go back and fix it?
